Hospitality
Terri Tuck and Jeanne Lapierre are co-chairmen of the Hospitality Committee. We organize various meals and treats for the entire faculty and staff at DRHS throughout the year - Back-to-School Breakfasts, Fee Night goodies, PTSA Back-to-School meeting night dinner, two Parent/Teacher Conference night dinners, Faculty/Staff Holiday Party, and a huge bash for Teacher Appreciation Week and the End-of-the-Year party, as well as honoring various groups throughout the year, including Bus Drivers, Custodial and Maintenance Staffs, School Counseling Department, Media Services Staff, Art and Music staff, Educational Bosses, Administrative Assistants, School Nurses, and any one else along the way! We are always eager to accept food donations to offset the cost of feting the faculty and staff.
Landscaping
The Landscaping Committee has responsibility to maintain the flower beds, the median strip in front of the school, the kiosk (sign) in front of the school, and the side entry into the school that the students use. We try to keep the beds mulched, and free of weeds. There is an annual contract with Green Acres Lawn Service that maintains the flower beds and is responsible for the maintenance of the mulched beds. We arrange for seasonal flowers to be planted outside in chosen areas; at this time, we selected the endcaps of the median in front of the school. There are three containers at the front door that we place seasonal flowers in also.
